Painting the eggs RED

The night before Easter our friends Guillermo and Mary from San Diego came over with their 2 sons and stayed the night at our house. It was a pretty warm night so as the kids played in the backyard we sat at the table and had some Pizza and wine.
They loved the fire truck!

Ava was on her scooter. She loved having kids to play with.

Gabe,Guillermo and Mary...say Cheese!!!

I had boiled a couple dozen eggs for the kids to dye..we kinda got side tracked and almost forgot to do them..luckily they were all up at 10 pm still. Parker did a yellow egg with a bunch of smiley faces..it was his favorite.

Memo was having fun too..he liked using his fingers to take out the eggs rather then the spoon.

Ava was ALL into it. She got her little crayon and drew pictures on her egg and then put in in the dye. It was cute.

How eggciting for the kids. Shortly afterwards we put all the kids to bed and then all of us soon crashed out right after.

I woke up SUPER early in the morning cause I had to Fill Parker and Ava's baskets. (this is a later picture of the remaining items in Ava's basket) It was FILLED to the brim. I also hid candy filled eggs in the living room so when all the kids woke up they would be curious and happy to see them. This was the only Easter picture I took. We were havign coffee and Donuts with Guillermo and Mary and right before I heard Ava saying YAYYYYYYY down the hallway with her gigantic basket in hand) Anyway, We did not make any plans at all cause usually every year we take turns going to Gabe's sisters or have my family over.

Well this year we were planning on going to Gabe's sister house so we made no plans and a couple days before Easter we found out she was not going to do anything for Easter so I just ran to the store bought a ham and told my mom and dad and brother to come over and I will make a small dinner. Since it was so low key and everyone just kinda lagged around and I was in the kitchen cooking all morning I took no pictures. We didn't dress up or anything anyway. The twins didn't even get to come over. VERY MELLOW EASTER. The kids LOVED their baskets though..Ava got these awesome giant eggs with Littlest Pet Shop figurines in them ..HER FAVE.

Oh and then later in the day Gabe said he ran into the Easter bunny and gave him this basket to give to me! It was filled with little airline bottles of booze, Some Boozy Jello Shooters, some chocolate marshmallow eggs, a snickers egg and a cadbury egg, some Gum, Silver eyeliner, A palet of eye shadows (which work FANTASTIC), some nail polishes, and a lipstick..A perfect Easter Basket for me LOL.

Too Bad the Easter Bunny did not leave him a basket...however I did buy the cutest little Pink Nightie at Victoria Secret the day before Easter Eve and I have some Bunny ears....maybe he will like that?????????LOL

Egg Hunting at St. Timothy's

Last year John and Kirsten invited us to do a egg hunt at the church Kelsey went to pre school at and the kids had so much fun that this year Gabe and I took Parker and Ava again.

All are welcomed and there was a count of 150 people there. Later in the day we drove by Simms park ( they were also having a egg hunt) and they had like 1000 people there. 150 is much more tolerable and I am so happy we went to St. Timothy's

Parker was so anxious to start collecting eggs. They had this one big grassy area out front for the kids in his grade group to hunt.

These grassy areas were for the 3rd preschoolers and kindergartners. The area inside the white gate was 2 and under. I took Ava to the toddler section while Gabe watched Parker in the bigger kid area.

When you register in for the hunt each kid gets like 5 tickets and inside some of the eggs are more tickets that they can take to this toy table and pick out items of their liking. Parker and Ava got tons of little treats.

They also had guess how many candies are in the jars.

and if you found a gold or silver egg you could collect a prize. Ava found 2 gold eggs all on her own so she shared and gave one for her brother. Parker chose the Jesus fish chocolate bar and Ava got a colorful book called the Easter Basket. Ava was getting upset that she had to wait so long. She kept running out to the bushes and putting eggs in her basket. Before they started the Easter egg hunt one of the teachers had all the kids gather around while she had a box of colorful eggs that each contained a small item that bascially told the whole story of the meaning of Easter and what each item represented.

Ava was doing reallly good grabbing up eggs. They also had little white and cello bags filled with cookies, crackers and mini beanie baby animals ( which she ended up with like 10 new beanie baby animals.)

She was giggling with excitement

Gabe soon came over to watch her collect eggs as well since the bigger kids were finished in No time.
After awhile all the big kids came in to the toddler area and swiped up everything but that was okay ..Ava's basket was full and she was ready to move on to other things then collecting eggs .

Such as playing the toys and sitting in the swing

They actually announced that they had this back area for all the adults to egg hunt. It was a really nice time. We went and got lunch afterwards. It was a very nice day.

OH and we saw this car on the way home. The kids got a Huge kick out of it...pretty clever!

Stoked On Soul

Saturday was truly a marathon day..birthday party, oysters at Gladstones, and clubbing. The plan was since two of our friends were throwing clubs was to go to both but it got so late there was just no way we could do it. We decided to go to our friends club in Hollywood...A night filled with Northern Soul! Both clubs were not too packed from what I heard but we made the most of it and got to mingle with a lot of our friends.
Liz, Darma and Michael sat with Gabe and I at a corner booth. The room was filled with Fog from the fog machine..we eventually moved to the outdoor patio.

Riley Dj'd! It was good seeing her as I don't get out too often.

Hiram and Zach ..Zach said Quick..try and look important.

Dan, Melissa and Michael!!

Liz and Sade

Loryn and Sara ...I don't know the dudes...

Gabe and Hiram..chillen. It was a nice night of socializing! It took us forever to get home though. There was a MAJOR accident (no fatalities thank goodness) and they had to shut the freeway down to arrest the drunk driver. He had a small sports car and plowed right into a shuttle bus...it was half way underneath the bus..So surprised he lived through it. Our friends said he was getting arrested and the were clearing the traffic...anyway didn't get home til after 3am!

Gladstones Malibu

We had to take advanage of the beautiful weekend so after the Birthday party in the park the plan was t go to Gladstones for some beers and oyster shooters.

Gladstones is right on the beach in Malibu. It was PACKED! Vickie and I sat in the waiting section that had a little sand box for the kids to play in and sipped on some bloody mary's while the boys waited in line to put our names on the list...something with a nice view please!!!

Parker posing.

Once the guys put our names in we went inside and had another drink.

Vickie and Evie

Parker and I

We didn't have to wait too long and Boy what a great view!

Parker got the fish and chips

Grilled cheese and chips for Evie

We decided to split the medium size seafood Platter..the premium large one was the same but bigger and with Cavier but the 400.00 price tag was a bit much and Josh is not a fan of caviar anyway..I on the other hand love it with Champagne!

This platter had Everything..Lobster,shrimp,scallops,mussels,oysters,alaskin King Crab, Ceviche

So I NEVER had Oysters and I thought with my 14.00 margaritta (hoping it had a lot of booze) would make me brave enough to eat one. Well I could not do it....no matter how buzzed I was.

This was just the perfect size to share..plenty for all of us.

YUM Lobster!!

Josh was having fun messing around with Parker making the lobster talk to Parker.

Now the mussel is talking.

After we were done the kids were taking rides on the coin operated cars out front.

They all had a good time.

Ofcourse we had to do more then one ride

After Josh and Vickie and Evie left Parker wanted to climb the rocks. So we hung out for a little while longer.

Parker was having fun on the rocks.

He slipped and fell though but he stayed strong and did not cry.

Ava played in the sand.

Time to load up and go home...ofcourse a perfect day to ride with the convertable top down.
