Saturday at the Campground

We got up pretty early Saturday morning. Nothing like a million birds squawking in the tree above us and the sun shinning bright right through your tent to get you going.

 Once we got showers the kids were fast to get out and play

 While us adults made breakfast. We had eggs, Bacon and Pancakes

 Around the lunch hour we caravan to Julian to have a lunch and view some stores

 We stopped here at Buffalo Bills for lunch

 Gabe was sitting with the kids telling knock knock jokes

 After lunch we walked around

 We found some old record store...Parker found this HUGE dandelion!

 Inside the record store was this WELL...it freaked me out...i told Gabe do NOT let go of Ava's hand. This well is 50 ft deep.

 We also stopped while in town and did some wine tasting!

 Once we got back to camp I made a HUGE dispenser full of Sangria. All the guys sat around drinking Beers and Sangria and Hard Cider playing Horseshoes while us moms indulged in Sangria...lots and lots of Sangria! The kids Indulged in Smore's!

 Once we were all nice and relaxed and it started to cool down we all headed for a hike

The trail was all uphill...Our destination was to go to the top where you could see the ocean

 We stopped at a flat top and waited for the rest of the group. Ava and Evie found a couple boulders to take a break on.

 We found another HUGE Dandelion along the way..Ava and Evie were both trying to blow it...it was big enough for two wishes! Ava could not keep a clean face all weekend!

 Mary with Memo and Alli and Hilarie even hiked with little 2 month old London and Jesse had Alex in the backpack.

 After we sat around for awhile it was getting close to dusk so we headed back to the camp site

Once we got back to the campsite we settled back in to our areas and made our dinners for the evening than once all the little ones were asleep in the tents we all gathered our chairs together and sat around a fire and talked about all kinds of things..later as the evening grew darker so did the stories...muahahahahaa

One thing that was really cool was they had a astronomy group there with all their telescopes so Gabe and Parker went to look through them..they got to see Saturn and a bunch of other cool stars and moons!

I had a pretty great night sleep.

On the road again....

This past weekend we went with a group of friends and their children camping in Julian at William Heise County Park. We left Friday around 11:30 am ...

 Ava packed up some toys she wanted to take with her. I did not let her take her lala loopsy dolls though cause I did not want them to get destroyed in the dirt

 We took a very long scenic route to the campground. It was strange weather. Very hot and humid however it was raining...

 We stopped and put the top down on the convertible to drive through the rain

 we never got wet in the rain ..it was dry before it would even hit us

 The kids were laughing and having a blast driving through the rain

 The clouds were getting heavier and heavier

 Lots of strange businesses along the way in the middle of nowhere

 Once we were at the campground it was about 4:30 pm and we were so busy setting up I did not take any pictures but at night when we all were cooking our dinners

We made some drinks and sat around the fire telling stories and having some laughs. It was such a warm night we didn't even have to use our sleeping bags or put up our tent cover. We literally slept under the stars. I was surprise how well I slept as well.

Gone Camping!!

That's right...The McCaffrey's are off to the wilderness with Friends. Let the laughs and Sangria fill our souls! Let's just hope we don't get eaten alive by skeeters and Bears. See you all soon...that is is I don't OD on Smore's!

Ballerina in the Making!

Yesterday was Try Outs for Ava's Ballet classes. I am starting her off in the summer one day a week for 8 weeks courses...depending how she does and if she really gets the hang of it I will enroll her into the full on 2-3 times a week classes.

 She was REALLY excited to see all the other little girls her age in their ballerina outfits as well. I think Ava was one of the youngest ones there.

 They did floor exercises first

 Than it was to the bars...All the parents had to sit in the seats behind the glass windows of the dance room so a lot of my pictures have reflections of other moms in the window taking pictures of their little girls as well.

 I believe it was a first time for ballet for most of the girls in this class...all the moms were laughing and excited to see the girls dancing and following instructions

 I could not hear what music they were playing ..pretty thick walls between us and them

 When you could hear it it sounded like all the princess songs from Disney

 Ava was probably one of the girls that could not grasp following directions all that well at first but I did see she was not the only one..a lot of the little girls would get distracted or even leave the room

 Looking at these pictures though you would think she got the hang of it pretty good...I had to hide and not let her see me to really get into it..here are some more pix...

 Now to follow the teacher and do what she is doing...

 I have to say though...they are pretty strict here..I guess it is that way in dance

 This was a pretty big class..Like 20 girls

 They stopped at the half hour mark to give the girls a water break

 Than it was back for more dancing. They really got A Lot out of the hour. This was the final move ..she had to do a dance across the room with the teacher and at the end she got a hand stamp.

After class once we started to leave Ava than proceeded to tell me...Okay...Let's go to swimming school. I am thinking I am going to have to put her back into swimming class as well.
