We started the morning off with some Mimosa's and Soyrizo Burritos and lots of coffee..some of the group left but the remainder of us that stayed made mass cocktails and played badminton and boating on the lake..it was probably the funnest day of the whole trip in my opinion.

Back at Camp Pt 3 of Camping trip

Saturday once we got back to the camp site from the nature center everyone was kinda just relaxing and drinking and chit chatting. It was still very hot out!
Once again..we really had the most awesome view of the lake.
The kids were having a blast playing in the kiddie pool...eventually Gabe took the 3 older boys over to the BIG swimming pool
No idea why I took a picture of this...
or this...I like how everyone is hanging out with their beers looking at the lake though

Ava waking up from her nap
Michael and Toni just basking in the lake breeze and sunshine
 This was their view..very peaceful
 more random photos..
a heated game of ladder golf between Lane and Josh
It was my turn to cook dinner and I made chili of course...Jesse helped me too..he was cooking my meat for me..funny too since he is a vegetarian.
Time for Chili..just in time for the lovely sunset...it got cold quickly
Time to close the evening with some more hanging around the camp fire and sharing our answers to Josh's question...What is the scariest movie you have ever seen??

I think the Shining won...

Chopping Wood and Cookin Stew pt 1

Last weekend was our annual family camping trip and boy what a fun time it was...it just went by so quickly though..I guess it's true what they say..Time flys when your having fun!

We arrived at the campsite about 2:30 close to 3. Our friends Guillermo and Mary and their 2 children stayed the night at our place Thursday night and we all caravan up to Lake Cachuma. When we arrived my brother,Jess and Scott and Toni and my cousin Amber and Rick and their 2 children were already there. After we arrived the rest of the group started to show up too. Friday the day consisted of mainly setting up our camp spots and tents and food, and getting familiar with our surroundings.  We had a great look out over the Lake but there were some really steep cliffs that had me very nervous the whole weekend. Gabe and I and Mary and Guillermo took a little walk over to the boat launches. The kids had fun checking out some fish in the water.
Josh brought some big pieces of wood so before the night fall all the men were chopping away. Here is Gabe taking a stab at it.
There was this little pop up train that Evie brought..all the kids were having so much fun going inside it and making it drive around the campsite...it was so cute to see nothing but this big ol train moving around and 8 tiny feet on the bottom moving it around..we were all cracking up
Guillermo taking his turn chopping wood
It was so funny when G took off his shirt to put some more power into chopping wood his Son yells out DAD Take off your pants hahahahaha

Fridays dinner was a big seafood boil. Josh was working on that food. There was TONS of it. It had shrimp,clams,crab,potatoes,onions,garlic,corn..and lots more
The guys manning the stew..Angelina (my cousin Candice daughter) was very helpful to everyone
We got the fire lit and all lined up when the Soup was on and man was it delicious! I think I had like 3-4 bowls of it..everyone just stepped right up ..felt like a soup kitchen
LOL My brother did not have a bowl so he got the big empty can from the chicken broth and ate his stew out of the can..all weekend we were calling it Alex's Hobo Can
The night was a short one..we all bundled up and sat around the fire while the kids made smore's and the adults drank beer and shared stories. It was very relaxing.
Parker had his own tent he slept in and was great...Ava on the other hand cried almost the whole night..she was FREAKING out being in the tent which is weird cause she has been camping before twice and always did fine. The only way we could get her to fall asleep was to sleep with the tent door OPEN. Luckily it was a warm night but I was scared that some critter was going to come in the tent with us so I was on edge the whole night. I think she finally went to sleep at 2:30 and then we could finally close the tent..Rough night! Thankfully she did good the rest of the days.

Another Camping Trip ..BOOKED

So this year will be the third annual family and friends camping trip. We have been doing this in the past with my aunt and uncle and small cousins along with some friends and my brother too but last year John and Kirsten moved away to the East coast but we are still gonna keep the tradition going on. The first year we camped at Lake cachuma and last year we did San Onofre. This year we are going back to Lake Cachuma cause I loved it there so much. Usually our group consist of 8-12 of us..this year we will have a Whopping 27+! I was So very lucky enough to get the LAST Small group camping spot for us for June 17,18,19. It is the Barona Butte campsite pictured above! Everyone wants to pitch in for a Boat too so that will come next. So far there are talks of a Big Seafood Broil. I am of course going to plan out a chore and Cook schedule and YES we are gonna stick with doing a scavenger hunt. A lot of the friends are so willing to help me plan meals and activities. I love this site too cause it is close to the playground and we all pretty much have kids. There will be 10 children and all of them with a friend their age to play with. All our friends that confirmed on going are really excited just like us for this trip. I CAN'T Wait...anyway..I am gonna post up some memory photos from our past two camping trips...
