On Tuesday was the last day in Florida and lucky for Holly and I we had the whole day off. Our flight did not leave til 6:15 pm so we hurry and got out of bed took our baggae to the bagge holding area and went off to actually enjoy some Florida Sun!
The beach is So clean here..We laid out for a little bit on some beach chaise's which were 12 bucks to rent. Our co worker paid for Holly and My chairs and we laid out.
Holly and I had a plan to go to lunch and check out this awesome spot to eat from a travel channel called LE TUB so off we went
Self portrait on the beach..who knew I was getting sun burned at this moment
One last shot of the ocean. We met up with a couple of our local Vespa dealership guys and they wanted to come with Holly and I to lunch so all 4 of us jumped into the cab to Le Tub
This place is so COOL!
Inside it was just a very large somewhat of a labyringth of weather wood deck/Patios filled with plants growing out of Bath Tubs, Toilets,Sinks, Fixtures of Kitchen and bathrooms really.
Lots of old tin sides..It reminded me of the Swamps or Bijou's..it was So very cool. I felt like I was in New Orleans ..instead of water pictures you serve yourself in the big Thermos sitting out on the deck
There was TONS of these little birds that Sounded like parrots..At one point it even light rained while we were sitting out but the rain drops would melt right off your skin the moment it would touch you..with the birds, the humidty, the rain and all the plants we all felt like we were in a rain forest.
My view from my seat..right along the harbor
Holly's view
They had these weird Long skinny fish in the ocean..You probably have to click on the picture to get a better view...you don't see those in Cali!
More plants
They gave us our paper menu's and I had to ask the waitress .."Ok..What is the item that everyone must try here?" and she said the Burger so we all ended up getting the burger...IT WAS HUGE but a little rare for my taste but still good..just wish I could have finished it all. We also ordered a large fry for all of us to share. They cook their fries in Peanut oil.
The waitress told us as she was taking our plates from the table..OK YOU GUYS READY FOR SOME KEY LIME PIE??
How could you refuse Key Lime Pie in Florida?? You would be crazy not to order it. We all shared one. It was tasty!
A local man was walking around selling Cigars..I was like what Kind and I asked do you have any cubans?? and he did. So I bought some to take home to my husband and dad. Who knows if they are really real cubans.
Holly and I left while the guys hung back for the rest of their co workers to show up that were going to take them to the airport. We saw these toilets near the exit so of course we had to pose on the toilets. Holly ofcourse got the red one!
and I sat in the Blue one. We were going to call a cab back to the hotel but we decided to walk back to the hotel down the beach/boardwalk in hopes of finding some cool places to shop
Interesting Butler Monkey
The boardwalk
We walked almost 3 miles. We stopped here for a rest
Taking photos of my self sitting down
Wind kept blowing my hair all over the place
Looks like a Corona Commercial
Cool Mid Century Apartments
How could I not take a picture of IRIS TERRACE
It's like a Big soveniour coin
Lots of retirement condo's...Lots of old folks laying out in the sun...when they are not playing Shuffleboard apparently
We ran out of sidewalk/boardwalk so it was on the sand we walked..
Holly saw this and said SEE IRIS the beaches here are dirty too ..here is a condom ...upon closer inspection and trying to find a stick or trash which was impossible we found a dried up seaweed root and poked around at this what we thought was a water filled condom and notices it had tentacles...WATCH OUT FOR JELLY FISH!!!
Another Jelly Fish...they were ALL OVER the place!! I got away from the water and walked further up the sand..we finally got back to the hotel and lounged for a bit with co workers before it was time to head over to the airport where we got there way early and hung out at chili's charging our phones then it was back to home sweet home Cali. We arrived about 5 after 10pm.
All in All Florida was a wonderful trip and I really want to go back to the beaches but next time for a real vacation with my family!
